“Facebook for Kids & Community Building“
Sept. 3rd @ 9:00 am PT
Fred Jones will share his experiences with Facebook for Kids and building community online
Notes:
Fred Jones shared the Facebook Messenger for Kids call he received from his seven-year-old grandaughter living miles away. (https://messengerkids.com/) demonstrating that the world kids are growing up in demands that they learn new skills because it’s a very fastpaced and changing world. He referenced Jack Ma (of Alibaba) who speaks about education (https://youtu.be/rHt-5-RyrJk) suggesting that children need education that is wisdom-based rather than information-based and they must embrace technology.
He then spoke about his programs that give kids the opportunity to find their voice. His groups are a mix of ages, genders, cultures, races and siblings. They are given the opportunity to speak, present and work in group both in-person and online. He provides all the tools parents or community groups need to initiate and support leadership development for youth. His website has lots more information http://www.ourfutureleaders.ca/
